Halo Wars 2 DLC Leader Reveal – Pax East 2017

During 343 Industries panel at Pax East, Halo Wars 2: Creating the Story, Art, and content yet to come, they revealed the first DLC leader for Halo Wars 2 – Morgan Kinsano, a UNSC Hellbringer leader. Kinsano is the first of many leaders on their way to the game through 343 Industries and Creative Assembly’s post-launch schedule. Together, they’re aiming to add DLC content every 3rd Wednesday of every month, for at least 6 months. This content is only available through the game’s $30 season pass which was also bundled with the Ultimate Edition of the game. Halo community manager, Brian Jarrard, did mention during the panel that people will be able to buy the DLC à la carte – however there is currently no information or pricing information for the DLC at this time. Kinsano and new campaign missions will be released sometime during the week of March 13th (date TBA).

Halo Wars 2’s DLC will include new leaders with new abilities, new units for multiplayer, new Blitz cards, and new campaign missions that expand upon the Halo Wars 2 story. According to Halo Waypoint, the new campaign missions will be part of something called “Operation: Spearbreaker”, which I’m sure we will learn more about as we get closer to Kinsano’s release next week.

Kinsano is a UNSC Hellbringer Leader that focuses on speed, unit buffs, AOE and DOT abilities, and fire… lots of fire. 343 Industries announced during the panel that they have plenty of leaders coming to Halo Wars 2 including some fan favorites and some “a little bit silly”. Since the multiplayer experience does not take place in official canonical space, they have the freedom to have leaders like Sergeant Forge in the game.

Play Halo Wars 2 Blitz PvP for Free Jan 20th – 30th on Xbox One and Windows 10!

The Halo Wars 2 Blitz Beta will officially begin on Friday, Jan. 20 and is slated to run through Jan. 30, 2017. The Blitz Beta will take place on the map “Proving Grounds,” and will offer 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 gameplay via matchmaking on both Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. One thing we’re particularly excited about is the fact that all of the Faction Leaders and Blitz cards that will be available in the full game at launch on Feb. 17 will be included and available to play and experiment with during the beta, offering wide breadth of strategic and gameplay options. You’ll also find a series of daily and weekly challenges to participate in as we work to stress test those systems.

As a special incentive and thank you, everyone who participates in the Blitz Beta will be awarded up to two free in-game Blitz card packs in the final retail version when it ships in February. You’ll earn one card pack just for logging into the Blitz Beta and another one after you’ve completed your first match. So jump in and get a leg up on the competition before launch in February, help us test aspects of the game AND earn yourself two bonus card packs for Halo Wars 2 come launch!

Blitz is certainly one of the more exciting aspects of Halo Wars 2, but we’ve got plenty more goodness coming in the full game on Feb. 21 including a robust campaign (single and co-op), additional MP modes (like Domination, Strongholds and Deathmatch), and Blitz Firefight.

Halo Wars 2 – Blitz Multiplayer Overview (Blitz PvP & Firefight)

Overview and details on Blitz, a new arcade multiplayer mode for Halo Wars 2 that features both PvP and Firefight options. Blitz features new Blitz card system. These cards are used to instantly spawn units and leader abilities. The goal is to capture the objectives and energy supply drops on the map. In Blitz Firefight the goal is to survive never ending waves of enemies that increase in difficulty.
