New Halo 2 Anniversary Cinematic from the mission Outskirts was teased by IGN. Blur Studios has remastered all the cinematics for Halo 2 Anniversary for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Check out the gameplay reveal of Bloodline the remastered Coagulation for Halo 2 Anniversary. Bloodline’s dynamic map element features EMP Towers at each base that disable any nearby vehicles – similar to the overcharged plasma pistol.
We also get to see Suppressed SMGs (formerly known as Silenced SMGs) and Speed Boost for the first time, along with more Gungoose and Hornet gameplay! Also the Suppressed SMGs are also dual weldable!
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be released on November 11 for the majority of our fans around world!
There are still a few countries that will see a slight delay due to public holidays. In Europe, Belgium will release on November 12 and France will release on November 14 as part of their typical Friday release schedule. Our fans in Japan will see a release of November 13. Given the social aspects of the experience, we were really happy to get it as close to a simultaneous worldwide release as possible so that we can all celebrate on November 11 and start playing together.
This is literally going to be the biggest Halo experience so far
That is to say, the sheer size and scope of the content. To recap, Halo: The Master Chief Collection contains four complete Halo games, every multiplayer map ever released (including DLC from console and PC) across each game, a complete remaster of Halo 2 with all-new audio and Blur’s mind-blowing cinematics, and all of this is tied together with (and enhanced by) a revolutionary user interface.
From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection. The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB. You’ll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update. Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space. This ensures that you are getting every bit of Halo goodness we can fit in. Our work is not done, however, as we continue to tune, tweak and optimize the online experience to ensure a smooth multiplayer launch. This will continue right up until launch day.
One caveat we wanted to share is that Spartan Ops, our episodic co-op experience from Halo 4, will now release in December. In the meantime, we’re making some technical enhancements to that experience to make sure it’s smoother and even better than before. All ten episodes will be available at the same time, so we’re working to make an event out of it with our Community teams.
Senior Game Designer Max Szlagor guides you through some of the new Campaign Leaderboard, Rival, and Speedrunning features in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. We also get to see Halo 4 running on the Xbox One at 1080p and 60fps for the first time!
A unified campaign scoring and medal system has been added to every game within the Master Chief Collection. Now with the user interface you will be able to check all 401 achievements, totaling 4000 gamerscore, and launch yourself directly into the appropriate place to unlock the achievement. You will also be able to set other players as your Rival and see how you stack against them in campaign scoring and speed running times for each mission.
IGN just released a video expressing their thoughts and experiences with Halo the MCC and within the video we got our first gameplay and glimpses of the Remastered Coagulation for Halo 2 Anniversary, now with the new name of Bloodline.
And as you can see…. There’s a Hornet on screen. No this is not Halo 3, this is Halo 2 Anniversary gameplay and it looks like in the anniversary version we’ll be able to use the hornet! This makes me wonder what other additional vehicles have made their way over to the Anniversary multiplayer.
We know that the assault rifle, silenced SMG, and other sandbox items like the mongoose have made it into Halo 2 Anniversary – as well as the Gungoose a brand new vehicle! Now you can add Halo 3’s Hornet to the mix!
Looking back at the footage you can see there’s a large bunker like structure in the middle of the map. There are also man cannons on top of the bases. And to the side of each base there’s a large metal bridge that was shown to us many Halo bulletins ago.
There’s no mention what the map’s dynamic element is but I’m speculating that it could be a river. The “path” that winds through the map seems deeper than before and leads all the way to the box canyons – and back when Warlock was leaked the map’s image in the menu system shows a distinctive blue color winding through the map which was not in the concept art released back in RTX.
As part of IGN First, IGN announced that Warlock will be the 6th and final remastered map for Halo 2 Anniversary.
The remastered Warlock, now called Warlord now joins
Ascension now called Zenith
Coagulation now called Bloodline
Zanzibar now called Stonetown
Sanctuary now called Shrine
And, Lockout now called Lockdown
Warlord has a few changes beyond the graphical remastering and amazing skybox – jump boxes and additional minor pieces of cover have been added to the map. At the moment, no mention of a dynamic map element like the other remastered maps for Halo 2 Anniversary
These 2 new screenshots come from this week’s bulletin. One from the map Battle Creek, and the other from the map Chill Out.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen inquiries from those of you who want to see and hear about Halo: Combat Evolved within Halo: The Master Chief Collection. While we don’t have footage just yet (that is on the way, friends), we’ve got some in-game screenshots from Halo: Combat Evolved running on Xbox One, made them into fancy wallpapers, and also answered a few frequently asked questions.
From these frequently asked questions we learned that
All of the game types and custom game type options from Halo: CE will be available in the custom games menu.
For Halo CE you’ll be able to find games with radar enabled and disabled in separate specific playlists. Options like these apply for all games within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as there will be a variety of experiences in Matchmaking that cater to a variety of playstyles.
Once again, it was confirmed that all PC exclusive maps for Halo CE and Halo 2 will be available in both custom games and matchmaking
343 then confirmed that the Fuel Rod Gun and Flamethrower from the PC version of Halo: CE will be available as well. You will have the ability to select your weapon set in Halo: CE from a brand new list of weapon sets, including “classic,” which will not include the Flamethrower or Fuel Rod Gun if you so choose.
Even though Halo CE Anniversary is being used for the Master Chief Collection, the multiplayer will feature the original experience and not the Anniversary/Reach multiplayer. This means that Halo CE’s multiplayer will be playable on Xbox Live for the first time ever on November 11th thanks for the Master Chief Collection.
Check out the gameplay reveal of the remastered Zanzibar for Halo 2 Anniversary. We also have our first glimpse of the highly anticipated Gungoose, a new mongoose with guns!
343 Industries also released eight new screenshots for the remastered Zanzibar.
GAME UK just announced two editions for Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Limited Edition and Mjolnir Edition. The Limited Edition comes with a Limited Edition steel book case, a physical map book, and the Grunt Funeral Skull. The Mjolnir Edition comes with a 12 inch Master Chief Statue from Kotobukiya.
343 Industries announced at San Diego Comic Con that Zanzibar will be remastered for Halo 2 Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. They also revealed a trailer for Halo 2 Anniversary’s cinematics by Blur Studio!
Zanzibar will be one of the 6 re-imagined Halo 2 maps. Zanzibar joins Ascension and Coagulation as the 3 maps confirmed so far. So to clarify, these 3 maps will have 2 playable versions: original in Halo 2 classic multiplayer and remastered in Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer.
