At Gamescom 2014, 343 Industries gave us a brief tour of Halo 2 Anniversary’s campaign showing of the Delta Halo level.

Halo 2 Anniversary Sanctuary Remastered Gameplay

343 Industries revealed that Sanctuary will be 1 of the 6 remastered Halo 2 maps for Halo 2 Anniversary. Sanctuary joins Ascension, Coagulation, and Zanzibar. There are rumors that Lockout will be one of the six. The final map is unknown.

There are reports that the remastered Sanctuary actually has the name of “Shrine”. This is seen while paused in-game.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Will Support LAN

Halo: The Master Chief Collection LAN System Link

Yesterday via Twitter it was revealed by a 343 Industries employee, Che Chou Franchise Manager at 343 Industries, that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will support LAN (or System Link). Che Chou was responding to tweets about how the upcomming Gamescom Halo 2 Anniversary tournament would work and Che Chou replied through “Custom Games on LAN”

Two more tweets clarified that for LAN to work there still needs to be a connection to the internet. The internet connection doesn’t have to be major, it’s just so the Xbox One consoles can make a “handshake” and ping to Xbox Live.

 

Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Limited & Mjolnir Editions!

GAME UK just announced two editions for Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Limited Edition and Mjolnir Edition. The Limited Edition comes with a Limited Edition steel book case, a physical map book, and the Grunt Funeral Skull. The Mjolnir Edition comes with a 12 inch Master Chief Statue from Kotobukiya.

Halo 2 Anniversary – Cinematic Motion Capture BTS – SDCC 2014

343 Industries showed us a behind the scenes look of Halo 2 Anniversary’s cinematics and the motion capture work that goes into producing the final product – which is being made by Blur Studio.

Halo 2 Anniversary is only available in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection out this November 11th. Blur is handling the re-mastering of all of the Halo 2 cutscenes, terminal videos for Halo 2 Anniversary, and they’re including brand-new prologue and epilogue cutscenes that will act as bookends that will provide some details and story elements for Halo 5: Guardians.

Zanzibar Remastered for Halo 2 Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection

343 Industries announced at San Diego Comic Con that Zanzibar will be remastered for Halo 2 Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. They also revealed a trailer for Halo 2 Anniversary’s cinematics by Blur Studio!

Zanzibar will be one of the 6 re-imagined Halo 2 maps. Zanzibar joins Ascension and Coagulation as the 3 maps confirmed so far. So to clarify, these 3 maps will have 2 playable versions: original in Halo 2 classic multiplayer and remastered in Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer.
