Halo: The Fall of Reach – The Animated Series Trailer
Halo 5: Guardians Campaign footage of Blue Team! Finally we get to see the perspective of Master Chief (John), Fred, Kelly, and Linda! This gameplay primarily takes place during mission 2 of Halo 5: Guardian’s campaign which is aptly named “Blue Team”. This information coming from those who had early hands on experience with a portion of this mission back in May.
Throughout the course of the campaign the action will shift between these two teams. Blue Team’s missions represent vital turning points within the story and pose questions the player will answer while playing as Locke and Fireteam Osiris. Only by playing back and forth between the two teams will the complete story be told.
Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition 1TB Xbox One Console, LE Spartan Locke and Master Chief Controllers, and more announced at Gamescom 2015. The console is $500 dollars and comes with a 1TB hard drive and the console has Halo sound effects for when you power on, eject and power off the console.
It includes a digital copy of Halo 5: Guardians and includes Limited Edition content – this includes:
Spartan Themed Steelbook
Guardian Model by Metal Earth
Spartan Locke’s Classified Orders
Dossiers on Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris
The Fall of Reach Animated Series
Warzone REQ Bundle – with 14 Premium REQ packs
FOTUS armor for Halo 5 Guardians
And an exclusive emblem.
Now we’ve been told many times that pre-order bonus digital content is obtainable through regular gameplay progress. However I reached out for confirmation and found out that the emblem from the LE Halo 5 console is exclusive to those who purchase it, but the FOTUS armor can be earned by anyone through the REQ system. Those who buy the console just get it immediately on day 1.
@ChiefCanuck FOTUS can be earned in-game. Emblem is exclusive.
The console bundle also comes with a very cool limited edition Spartan Locke controller. You can also order this separately for $70. The controller comes with its own bonus REQ pack that includes the Resolute Visor.
There’s also a limited edition master chief controller that you can buy separately. It too comes with a bonus REQ pack that includes the Dauntless Visor.
Again, you might be able to unlock these on your own just by trying your luck with the REQ system.
The controllers are set to release early in October and the Limited Edition Halo 5 console will release on October 20th, a week before launch to allow fans time to pre-load the game just like the LCE of the game.
Another Halo game, and another installment without the beloved characters that go “wort wort”. It has now been said many times since E3, however the question is still asked anytime there’s an opportunity. Halo 5: Guardians will not have playable Elites. Spartans are the focus for this installment.
This is likely due to a major balancing issue that many veteran Halo fans will know. Elites and Spartans are very different characters. They have different sizes, posture, and hit boxes. This poses a problem in creating even play. Anyone who played the gametype SWAT knows how much more difficult it was to land a shot on a head of an Elite – let alone how impossible it was to do that when the Elite player had their back to you.
This news comes from multiple sources. Josh Holmes answered some Warzone related questions over on HaloWaypoint
“Q: Will you be able to play as any type of character (ex: Elite, Forerunner, ext…) A: Everyone plays as a Spartan in Halo 5 multiplayer. This includes both Warzone and Arena.”
This heartbreaking news for some was also heard during an E3 livestream with Funhaus/RoosterTeeth and most recently during an Q&A session with Game Informer on their podcast.
This comes after the news from Game Informer earlier this month that Halo 5’s campaign would not support split-screen (local) co-op. This was due to the goal of ensuring top framerate and graphical performance at all times.
Frank O’Connor went on to explain further on NeoGaf around the same time, “that 60 fps had to take precedence. It’s not just aesthetics – the entire simulation is built on that frame rate.”
