New Halo 5 Location and Concept Art ?!

sparth_660

Josh Holmes from 343 industries released an article on HaloWaypoint briefly outlining their plans for the new year, addresses some recent events and staff changes, and at the end he did give us a sneak peak at a brand new location.

“In closing, I will leave you with this image from Sparth – an early exploration of a new location that features prominently in a little game project we’re tinkering with….”

Could this concept art be for Halo 5? Halo for Xbox One (provided that the two may be different)? Or something else entirely?

Josh Holmes also hinted…

“2014 is here and much is afoot in the Halo universe,” he wrote. “This past year has been a time of great transition at 343 as we’ve moved our engine and team from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and begun building the next chapter in the Halo saga.

“We’re proud of what we accomplished with our first release in Halo 4 and now we’re focused on something much more transformative as we make the leap to the next generation of Xbox. We showed a hint of what we have in store at E3 last year and we’re excited to share more in the not-so-distant future. Please be patient – we can’t wait to show you what we have in store.”

Thanks to MixMaker117 for showing us a handy guide to earn 1,000 XP for Halo Spartan Assault in a minute. Just by applying 2 skulls (Hollow and Pacifist) in mission A1, which is by far the easiest and fastest mission to complete, and you’ll be farming XP in no time. XP is used for purchasing alternative armor abilities and boosters prior to playing missions. Those alternative choices can prove to be extremely helpful in later missions to earn gold stars.

Happy gaming,

Destiny Launch Date September 9th, 2014

release_date_article

Bungie has just announced that their next game, Destiny, will be launching this September 9th 2014 and that the beta will be start sometime this summer.

“Today, in partnership with Activision, we are proud to announce that the worldwide launch of Destiny will happen on September 9th. Accordingly, the Destiny Beta will kick off in the summer of 2014, available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.”

It appears that Bungie has pushed back the release of both the beta and the game from their earlier announcement of Spring 2014 (Which was made during the beta announcement). Bungie has stated many times that they are treating their beta like a full product launch.

PlayStation Early Beta Announcement during the PS4 Launch November 15th, 2013 (Now outdated)

It appears that delaying games has been all too popular as of late. As much as I don’t like to wait any longer for game, especially this one, it is definitely understandable to insure the product is ready for launch.

Halo Wars 2 A Possibility?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65PQQ84YBFY

Check out this video by ForgeWorldMaps, where he breaks down an interview with IGN and Phil Spencer and the topic of Halo Wars comes up in discussion.

“[Halo Wars is] something I’m very interested in. Bonnie [Ross, 343 Industries GM] and I talk about it quite a bit,” … “And especially now, when I think about some of the capability,” … “when I think about some voice and other things that you could add to that, that’s the kind of gameplay that I think would be great in those scenarios. And also a game that maybe I could play on multiple devices: I could play on Windows as well, I could play on console, because it has that gameplay that lends itself so well to that. So I suspect you’ll see us do something with…they’re kind of busy right now at 343, which is good, we’re really happy with what they’re working on. But I think there is opportunity for us to do something more with that franchise and Bonnie, Kiki [Wolfkill, 343 executive producer], and Josh [Holmes, creative director] are doing a great job in thinking holistically about the Halo franchise.”

They seem to like the idea, and don’t flat out deny the possibility. But they acknowledge that 343 Industries is already busy at the moment producing the next Halo game. Phil Spencer also adds that playing a game like Halo Wars on multiple devices (i.e. Windows PCs, maybe tablets, and on console) could be possible. The RTS genre fits well with PC, as seen by many Ensemble Studios (the developers of Halo Wars; which has since been shutdown) games – but Halo Wars never made an appearance on the PC platform. Could they follow Halo: Spartan Assault’s footsteps and if they do make a sequel, release it on multiple Windows platforms overtime? Who knows.
